New plugs,now the check engine light comes on, 225 FICHT?

I replaced a starter and spark plugs on my 2001 225 evinrude ficht, engine ran great prior, runs great now except that the check engine light comes on at higher speeds, seems to go on and off and does not stay on all the time , what could this mean, again the motor seems to be running great..........Thanks for advice in advance...DP!

the motor light could be coming on for stupid reasons like your timing is off or a faulty conection some where in your wiring... Or it could be more seriuos like a water pump not pumping water. Id check all your connections first.
