I was curious as to some of the signs that would indicate i need a new waterpump

Once you have the signs... it may be too late.

Have a water pres gauge? if thats low. no water from tale tale hole (thats symptom wont last long)

If you cant remember the last time you changed it.. DO IT. TO me its cheap insurance for a few bucks to change it and KNOW its good than to run on an old one.. but thats my 2 cents.

If you do not know the last ime it was serviced-you're OVERDUE.

They said it.

I would add that a water pressure guage, if you don't have one is a good idea.

But since I don't know if its a 6 hp. or a 300 hp .

I won't recommend you get one.

Seems a little silly on a 6 hp , on a row boat .

But, a great idea on most motors.

Does the cylinder head get so hot that you can't hold your fingers on it for more than a few seconds?
Does the pee stream remind you of the onset of prostate disease?
Has it been more than 2 years since your last impeller change?
Has your overtemp buzzer been buzzing?
Do you have an hour to kill and want to spend it with your motor?
Has Neptune aligned with Uranus?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, chances are you need to replace your impeller!

Not sure, but I think they're hinting that you may want to change the water pump out......Has Nepture aligned with what????? 8)

One other indication that you need a water pump is the fact that the engine won't turn over 'cause it's seized. d:)
