I have a 6hp that has been out of service for a pretty good while. Serial 6602E-E08167. I posted about it awhile ago looking for a fuel pump and I got replies that a Sierra 18-7350 would work on it but I havent been able to find anyone that has it. Is there another that will work? In addition, I ordered the water pump kit for that year and hp and when I pulled it apart, the impellar that is in it is much smaller than the one in the kit. It measures about an 1.5" across and the one it the kit is about 2.75". Do I need a new housing as well? Any help would be very much appreciated.

The water pumps on the 6hp motors were changed to a smaller one around 1979. It sounds like somone has fitted a newer lower unit on your motor. The part # for the impeller you need is 18-3091

Thank you for that info. I also have a 1968 6 hp with the smaller impellar in it. All I can figure is that at some time when they were changed the right impellar couldnt be found so whoever did it just changed the whole thing, but thanks again for that part number. Any ideas on the fuel pump?

Ishopmarine.com lists it and the BRP pump. I don't know why Iboat's listing isn't working.
