I have a 1993 evinrude 4hp that dosent pump water like it should. I have already replaced the impeller and doubled checked my work to make sure the water tube is in the pump housing but still it only pumps a small amount of water. Is it posible something is clogged? What should I do?

Impeller vanes facing the proper direction? Are you running it in a barrel of water? Is the water level high enough? Or is this while in the lake? How did the old impeller look? Any pieces missing?

I agree with Rick. How many pieces of the old impellor are stuck in the water tube? Something is not missing from top if impellor housing is there? maybe a seal or grommet?

Thanks for the responce. The old impeller was not missing any pieces but all of the little fins had large cracks and were ready to come apart. Today I took the lower unit off again and checked the grommet with was fine and then the impeller with was fine. I also ran a wire up the water tube but nothing blocked it. Im going to put it back together and test it again but I have a feeling it still wont pump water.
