Is there a tilt down limit switch/valve on a '94 OMC/Volvo SX outdrive?

I have noticed that the cylindrical part of the leg where the exhaust bellows attaches is actually rubbing/wearing against a pivot on the gimbal. The area is bright alum so I know that it is new.

It appears that the trim cylinders are pulliing the leg a bit too low.

Re: SX trim cylinders limit switch?

No switch of the sort. May have other problems. Check pivot pin (each side of drive where it tilts) and swing pin (top and bottom where it turns side to side) bearing for failure causing the drive to be loose in the gimble ring or the gimble ring to be loose in the gimble housing or both. If there is a problem here it will also cause problems with the gimble bearing, engine coupler, and drive input shaft.
