I have recently purchased a ProLine center console with an 84' OMC 1.6ltr Sea Drive V4. Does anyone know if the thermostats, which are located at the base of the engine, can be replaced without removing the powerhead? There are three bolts retaining the thermostat housing, with very little clearance to the cowling, about 1" or so. If I back out those bolts that much, will the housing and the rest of the parts be able to be removed, or is it time to pull the unit off? OMC techs??
