Deck Plates to fix floor rot in my 16' aluminum starcraft

I have 2 soft spots on my otherwise good looking floor.

Its a 94 Starcraft aluminum boat. The floor is screwed in there pretty tight from the factory.

I was thinking that I could cut a hole near the soft spot, fix the problem with a piece of pressure treated deck board, and install a deck plate in the hole I just cut

Thoughts?

there's really no way to tell until you take a look. if there are soft spots, there are spots that have started to rot but aren't soft, yet.

your plan might work. you also might find more than you were hoping for.
