What is it ?? Force or Chrysler 85hp or 120hp

Hi, I hope someone can help me.

I'm trying to figure out what my engine is.
The information I do know is that the leg is a 1983 Force 85 but the powerhead is a four cylinder unit and the previous owner claimed it was a Chrysler 120.

The Serial numbers are as follows
LEG - 856X3L - Force 85 1983
Powerhead - H037094 - Although this was kinda hard to read
Carbs - Tillotson WB13D6 and WB13D7

Help please!!!

120 HP chrysler would have a number like 1209HG or 1208BG or similar. Chrysler made 120 HP in 70,71,76 and 1977. Non of the model numbers are similar to what you posted for numbers. Looks like force only made 120 HP from 1990 to 1999. That lower unit is an odd ball cause Chrysler was still producing motors and Force took over in late 1984 however Merc site still calls that lower unit an 1983 force. On the power head look on the lower cowling under the carbs around the air box for a metal plate. That is typically where chrysler puts their data plates.

Perhaps they replaced a bad powerhead and put on a Chrysler 120.
