I have a 1980something 40 VRO it was running great then i turned off the key and now nothing. The key seems to have no power to it. I checked the fuse it looks fine. What else can I check for this problem?

Push it into gear and back into reverse several times to make sure the presure nuteral swich in the control box is not stuck. Then get your tester out and follow that manual before you go buying any parts.

hey thanks I did sum checking in the control and found a wire had corroded and broke a new connector and it works fine Thanks

I have a 40 hp johnson that we just bought a few weeks ago everything worked great till this weekend and when i try to put it in reverse the shift rod vibrates and the gears in the lower unit grind i have adjusted the shift cable i was wonder if i need to take the lower unit off and have looked at
