Hi. We just bought a 88 Bayliner Capri, the engine starts fine, but we cant figure out how to lower the trim. When we click the trim up/down buttons on the throttle, it just makes a click and nothing else happens.

Any suggestions, I am sure someone out there knows how to fix it.

Thanks.

This is an i/o engine. To amend my previous post, the problem is lowering the prop from the "trailering" position. Everyone says there is a button/switch, but cant seem to locate that. Trim up/down clicks so assume power to solenoid...

Thanks!

Best to post in I/O forum. Make sure you identify your drive and provide serial number, if possible. On my mercruiser, there is an up/down botton and a trailer button. The trailer button will move the drive up from the farthest out drive trim position to the trailer position. The up in the up/down switch only works within the drive trim range. The down of the up/down works whereever the drive position is.
