I have been experiencing a rough idle. I found that most of the problem was confined to the middle cylinder. I dismantled the carburetor and found that the small brass tube (inside the larger brass tube) extending into the float chamber appears to be broken. Is this tube a replaceable part? My Seloc manual is very nonspecific on the subject. Thanks in advance. Joe

You may want to check the BRP (Bomardier Recreation) website for parts diagrams.

Seloc is ultra non specific, and competes with Clymer.

What is broken about the tube? If it is too short, you need a new carb.If it is just pulled away from the larger tube,I think there is a service bulletin about using loctite to reattach.

Re: 1985 70 hp Johnson carburetor problem

Thanks for the help. The small tube fell out when I pulled the bottom off the carb. The end of the tube has an irregular shape as if it has broken. Does this tube continue into the throat of the carb or are there two separate small diameter tubes? It may be that the tube in question has simply fell out and needs to be reattached.

Thanks again. Joe
