Bogs down from 1000-1500 on acceleration

Johnson 115 (1997) rebuilt carbs last year.
Runs fine at idel and above 1500 rpms. Bogs down
as I accelerate to higher rpm.

Check for air leaks. Could it be fuel pump?

Hi Mike.....when it starts bogging, have you tried hitting the choke to see if it picks up? If you have, does it make the bogging worse or does the engine pick up?

I will try the choke on acceleration next time out.

Tried choking during acceleration with no luck, it actually bogs down even more. I did notice that it accelerates fine if I move increase my rate of acceleration.

What do you think?
