1994 5.7 with Merc Alpha I. I was trolling along today with the fam at a slow speed in low tide and a rock jumped up and hit me o:) The prop is toast and either needs to be repaired or replaced. Worse, I have a small (less than a 1/4 " bend in the very bottom of the skag (spelling?). Should I fix the prop and then see how she operates or should I take it to the shop to have things like the prop shaft checked and the skag straightened?

If it's an alum prop, which I'd say it is or it would kill the engine at Idle if it hit "that" hard, I doubt the shaft would suffer any, but the skeg needs to be as straight as possible.
