evinrude pinion gear

Where can I get a pinion gear for a 1985 Evinrude 150xp? part number 337524
I've searched, but I can only find foward gear and pinion gear sets.

I don't know where you got the number of 337524 from but I suspect it is simply a casting number, it is not a part number (not in any of my parts or price books).

As you've found, it is impossible to find just the pinion, and if you used a pinion from another V6 against your present original forward gear, you would have a mismatch which obviously would lead to problems.

I checked my remaining stock and found that I do have the set (still packed in a heavy protective grease) and I can see why you're hesitant to purchase the set when it's listed at approximately $385.00 or so.
