Hi. I'm about to embark on a mission to replace the seals/O-rings in the upper gearcase. Has anyone ever done one of these before? Am I in over my head here before I even get started, or should I give it a try?:%

Welcome to Iboats!

That's a very subjective question my friend.
But, if you feel up to it...
Buy a kit and do ALL the seals, etc.
The hardest part is getting the thing apart.
Take your time, If a bolt is grouchy, give it plenty of heat and PB Blaster.

While the drive is split, put a water pump kit in it, consider re-sealing the lower as well.

Use the opportunity to clean up any corrosion and repaint the drive.
