[Always Broke]

I have a 1977 Bonito, 17Â’, bow rider, deep V, Â’73 135 HP Evinrude. I realize thatÂ’s crankshaft horsepower. I always hear of these boats going 45 and 50 MPH. I run 36 MPH at 5300 RPM with two people and 12 gallons of gas. The motor seems to run good, no misses or anything and I tried different trim settings with no improvement. Is this about right or should I start looking for problems?

Sorry it took a while for me to post back.
Ive got a 1985 17ft center console with a 1985 90hp johnson, mine runs around 45- to 55 mph GPS, but the only thing is my boat is a heck of alot lighter than your bowrider. I am alos turning around 5300- 5500 rpm.
