My 1996 C40PLRU Yamaha all of a sudden would not crank. Monments earlier it cranked and started perfectly. I had to pull start it, which was no problem. Is there a switch in the motor or in the console mounted controler that can prevent cranking? Can anyone describe where this switch is and how to bypass it?

On the console, if it is in gear it won't crank ...... also if your battery terminals aren't making a proper connection it won't crank either ........
