Hi, I have a 3hp and heres the serial # 3532A Also in the front of the carb there is a mixture adjuster but right below that is a hole that I can see right into the carb was wondering if this is good or do I need some missing parts, Thanks, Don

Have a look at the fuel oil mix FAQ in the FAQ forum for details. What's said there applies doubly for the '64-67 3hp, which should never have been rated at 50:1 but was.

You are missing the intake silencer, which wraps around to the back of the outboard and the intake screen. Without the screen, I find that particular carburetor doesn't develop enough vaccum in it's venturi, causing the outboard to run bad. Some people take it off thinking it's a restriction and they'll improve the outboard.

There's a '52 parts diagram over at www.outboard-boat-motor-repairs.com that's generally like yours so you can see what parts your missing.
