Please check out my share-a-project page to see pics from the latest progress. The new stringers, floor and Nautolex as well as the seats are in. I will post pictures of the whole project as I get time, I'm going to hit the lake today and see what happens................

Did you do anything special to attach your seats? I have pretty much the same setup and I am thinking of lagging them into the floor and adding an extra piece of ply under the floor to have a little more bite on the lag bolt.

I really did not do anything extra as far as making the floor thicker. I just used 1/2" ply and the seats are lagged into that. Of course I used 3M 5200 to seal the holes as I ran the lag srews in. It holds very well. I was going to put in a swivel type captains chair and was going to add a piece of 3/4" ply under the 1/2" but decided to go with the back to back seat as it was originally.

BTW, the "shakedown" at the lake yielded excellent results. The boat sets very level in the water and after a carb rebuild and new fuel pumps, the motor pushed me along at 45mph @ 4500-5000 rpm. The bildge was bone dry. I'll try and get some more pics up soon of the whole mess!

I have the same boat with a 5.7 omc in it. how much trouble is it to replace the deck and carpet. What kind of time frame am i looking at?
