Corrosion,blistering on an aluminum boat
I have several spots that on my 1997 aluminum boat where the paint is flaking off. Under the paint is a whitish, powdery corrosion. This boat is stricly used in fresh water, Best ways to remove, pepaint? Any ideas on possible causes? Thanks, Rick

Poor paint job, Rick.
Strip her and either polish or repaint.

Probably some crud left over from the pre painting etching at the factory. Didn't get it all washed off before going to the paint shop.
Marine aluminum is really slick and you need to etch it to get a surface rough enough to get paint to stick.

I have the same thing on my boat. Just be careful because half of the rivets were corroded away to almost nothing.
