When I shift from neutral to forward there is a noise as if the gears are trying to shift. Only when It gets to high speed then it goes into gear. when in gear, if I lower the speed it slips out of gear. Can anyone help me........

Can't tell you the specific adjustment but it appears the throttle is advancing before it is in gear.If you study the mechanism as you move the throttle you may be able to see what needs adjusting.Don't grind the gears too much or you will need to repair the gearcase.I'm sure someone will be along with more specific info.

Shift shaft linkage needs to be adjusted.
Outlined well in a Clymer repair manual.
If clutchdog gear gets worn edges, it can be resurfaced at a machine shop for a few bucks ($40).
