Fish finder

Hi all ... got a question , someone stold the fish finder out of my boat !!! They cut the wires . the question is ... can I splice the transducer wire to a new fish finder ??? I don't want to pull the boat out of the water to replace the transducer What do ya's think ??

Hello Crazy, sorry to hear about your fishfinder. I think theives should loose a finger or two each time they are caught instead of a useless fine. Kind of hard to steal if all one has is stumps. Anywho, to answer your question, anything I have ever read on posts or from manufacturer sites is No, they cannot be spliced. If you had an extra plug-in it might be interesting to at least try it to see if could actually be done but I wouldn't cut the plug in off a good transducer cause if it doesn't work you end up with two useless transducers.
