Default 1983 175 Evinrude stalling in gear
I have a 175 that is stalling when I put it under a load. It runs excellent in neutral and when I run it in the dock. As soon as I put it in gear it shuts off. Suggestions?

Has the motor been sitting up for a while? If so, it sounds like a typical gummed up carb or bad fuel.

or low compression, bad spark fuel pump. what have you tested?
