Default Soft spot in floor

I have a small soft spot ( about 1 foot in diameter) in the floor of my 19 foot Grady tournament. It is right in the center panel over the gas tank. Has anyone seen this problem? Is it common with Grady's? Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Plain and simple,,,,,Boats with wood sooner or later have rotting issues. It's possible it's just that spot but usually the more you remove to do a simple repair the more problems you find.

grady does us a favor by using several panels over key items they install, such as fuel tanks. just one of the 100s of reasons they cost so much. does this panel have the 8" inspection port? i'd bet it does and you probably got a little water seepage there from the deck. you can replace the panel and solve your issue. also just replace the inspection port and live with the soft spot. it could take years and years for it to actually rot and cause problems. just watch it.
