A friend wants to buy a 2006 inboard motor boat for pleasure/skiing on lakes. He needs something about 22'-24' and medium price range, but will last. He doesn't want a boat that will fall apart in a couple of years, but one he can use for several years.
He has looked at the Rinker 226 Captiva and likes the set-up, price ok, motor size ok. Just wonders what opinions others have of what to buy for price and quality
You might want to ask your friend to be more specific about what his interests are. A boat that size will cruise really nice in the open water, but will not be so good for skiing.

Thanks, I will ask more questions. I do know that he and the family want to ski. Why would the Rinker 226 not be a good idea?
i'm very impressed with the deckboat style, they handle and perform like a bowrider ski boat, but have the room similar to the poontoon. we just recently bought a 23' Chris Craft deckboat w/ 5.7 volvo/penta. sweet boat. will pull 2 skiers, with 9 people on board, rated for 13 people. equipped with enclosed head, . great family boat.
