Looking to test fuel pump this weekend. If failing--how do I repair it? My manual is vary vague. I have a fuel pump kit but no instructions.
Thanks in advance-

my manual just says
1. remove 4 screws holding body together.
2. separate body, dicard diapjram and chcek valves and gaskets.
3. assemble in reverse, with new diaphram, check valves and gasket.
good luck

I'd bet you got an aftermarket kit. OEM kits come with instructions.
Look in the FAQ section for "9.9/15 OMC engines" by The Machinist. I seem to recall a section in the article about doing the fuel pumps.

Thanks for the link. Seems good for general principle but the pump described in the link is different that what I have.
I'm guessing it's about as simple as Tashasdaddy's instructions. I'll take a go at it this evening.
Thanks,
Stephen

I can't remove the plastic housing from the back metal casing. It looks like it is separated by two thin gaskets.
What's the best way of taking this apart?
Thanks,
Stephen

Well I solved my own problem. I tapped the metal casing with a hammer while resting the edge of the plastic housing the edge of an anvil.
I didn't now how fragile the plastic would be but the gasket gave way first.
Now on to rebuilding.
Thanks,
Stephen
