'96 Mariner 4-stroke 9.9 - Oil Capacity?
Im' checking out a friend's 99. hp to see if I might want to buy it. He's letingme have it for a week or so. No owner's manual available. Apparently, he has not run the motor much lately and has stored it laying down on the rear side (the tiller handle side pointing up). The oil filler cap was not tight and it looks like a lot of oil had leaked out. The dipstick does not register any oil. Looking down the filler cap, I can see some oil way down, so it's not dry. I will get some 4 stroke oil tommorrow, but how much to get? What's the oil capacity? I haven't cranked it up yet. Thanks for any help.
