first bottom fishing trip on the new grady. fished hackett's point just south of the bay bridge near annapolis. 35' of water, using cut bunker with fishfinder rigs on large circle hooks. no bites for 3 hours of fishing, but managed to find this gem. 31" beauty, which is a good fish for this area, this time of the year.

Good deal mattt. I'm a firm believer in that some boats are fish catchers and some aren't.

Glad to see yours is.

So Mattttt

How is that F225 as far as power goes. Is it sufficient or do you wish you had a bit more, say a 250 or 300 2-stroke. I'm curious because I have a '93 232G and I need a new engine. By the way, with a boat like that, the fish should jump right in like that baracuda down in Florida!

Re: the new boat catches fish!

first boat- for me, the power is plenty. typical 4-stroke hole shot, nothing to really impress you. i've topped out at 43 mph at 6100 rpm with me and a heavy fuel load (150 gal). i usually cruise at 25-28 mph at 4800 rpm, depending on conditions. yesterday i had 8 people on the boat, and ran 28 mph at 5200 rpm. the engine is a 2002. i hear the 2005's have a bit more midrange kick and better economy.

soulwinner- where you fishing for them?
