From an email I received from WServerNews(formerly W2Knews)

Major Jan 5, 2006 Sober Worm Outbreak Expected

According to iDefense, a security consulting firm owned by Verisign, on Jan. 5, 2006, there will be a substantial outbreak of the Sober worm. This will come from already infected personal computers (zombies) and from newly infected computers.

Re: FYI-Computer virus expected

A little more info on the Sober.x My domain has been hit pretty hard with this. I got a reply from the tech support people with what exact filters to setup that work to filter all of the Sober.O SoberX and Mytob virus emails

>>>>>>> here is c/p from the email I received:

The catch-all is deleted. The problem is that these viruses have a tendency to change even the to address so as to make it harder to determine which accounts the virus is being sent to if you have multiple accounts. The good news is, if you setup the three filters for the Sober.O, Sober.X and Mytob viruses, it will stop almost all of your incoming junk. The pages for the 3 filters are as follows:

http://forums.smarterlinux.com/about925.html

http://forums.smarterlinux.com/about1314.html

http://forums.smarterlinux.com/about1197.html

Setup these 3 filters and you should be good to go. Thank you and have a great day.

Regards,
Nick Leamy
http://www.HostMySite.com
