I am buying a Barefoot Nautique with a 454 engine in it. I am wondering if anyone is familiar with this boat....they also made a "non-barefoot" model the same year witha 350 engine in it...but as I look around the web...the models with the 350 seem to hold a higher value than the 454. Anyone know why? It making me a little nervous now and I am supposed to buy the boat in the morning. Is there a history of problems with this engine?

areeser,From what I would guess, its the fuel economy of a 454 vs a 350 that's what I would bet on for lower resale. Just a guess!Rob

In addition to the low fuel economy I would also guess that the insurance is much higher because of the HP to boat wieght
