I work at a Chevy dealership and this morning I assistad an elderly couple who recently purchased a new Malibu.

The couple were horrified that they were driving at 105 and people were passing them!! This morning on the way to the dealership the older gentleman was doing 70 in a 65 zone and people were flying by! They were scared of what the speed that other people were doing on the highway.

The outside temperature guage was not reading right it was reading too cold!

Well...the drivers center was mis-programmed into metric! The speedo was in KPH and the temp was reading C. It's all fixed with pushing the right buttons.

It was just a chuckle to me.

Bob :D

I've done that to my wife in her Jeep for a joke. It doesn't have the digi speedo, only the overhead console with temp. Change it to Celsius and she thought it was broke.

One would think that you would notice the difference in speeds. I mean going 70 kph FEELS totally different than 70 mph. Gues their perception was off.

Good yuks none the less.

The least read book in the world is the owners manual.

What amazes me with owners manuals is WHY do people take them out of the car and store it in the house. Are they afraid someone will break into thier car, steal it, and sell it on ebay?

Re: A piece of car horror? humor!

A number of years ago I purchased my first corvette. I belive it was a 1989. Of course anytime a man buy's one of these he has to take his dad for a "test ride". Just before my dad got in I HAD to select metric for the MPH scale. As we were cruising down the highway I had to point at the large LCD display and say " gee dad, it's hard to believe we're going 150....first time I ever really worried my Dad would have a heart attack. By the way, that was years ago and thank God he is still with us.

IMHO if that old couple had that bad a perception of speed then neither of them should be allowed a drivers licence.

It's not a right, it's a privelege-and if you aint capable of doing it properly then DONT DO IT.
