howdy budy, may i ask roughly how much u pay for that boat???the reason is that i want to sell mines this summer and i dont know how to price it, it is in a very good condition, clean and all thanks muchbolo
I paid too much, but I wanted the boat.Very CleanEverything Works (Ihope)A/CRoller TrailerAll Canvas$13,500I figure the boat is worth about $12,000. I had been looking for this exact boat for a while. This was the cleanest I found. Local Owner, 475 Hrs.There is some pitting on the outdrive.I work for a company that manufactures them, so will probably replace the housing next season.

I own a 1989 220 DA w/5.7 alpha 1 with stock prop (19 I believe) have had it for 4 years and really enjoy it. Other than routine maintenance I have not had to do anything major to it. I use it to fish for walleye and cruise around Lake Erie. Looking to move up in a coouple of years.
Trimmed up nicely I get a cruising speed of 24mph@ 2800 rpm and wot is 38 mph at 4200 rpm. Both mph readings are off the gps. Near as I can figure I burn about 8 gph at 2800rpm. There is another 220 in the marina which has the stock 4.3. He is not happy with the performance.
Ricky,Looks like we have identical boats. IS there some kind of instructions for the full canvas, or do I just figure it out. Havent tried the camper canvas yet. Waiting for Spring.Mark

Mark....The canvas is pretty easy to figure out. Just take your time. You must be a pretty bright guy if you bought a used Ray!!! April 15 is the day the rack and launch facility at Toledo beach Marina opens. I'm getting the itch real bad.
wow more 220 guys here, well i was getting 26 miles pe at about 2600 rmp 33 at about 4100 rpm but i was has to go all the way down to a 15 pitch prop to get those reading, my carm was not working great, plus i think i spun my coupler, so this spring i will post my result using a 17 pitch ss prop. but guy these boats are very very fine .good luck to all.
with the 5.7 engine thats all this these 220 needs. an less you want to fly lol rock hall i dont think you spend too much money for that rig, you gets the trailer plus good canvas top thats great
I'm really psyched to get in the water. I had a 21' cuddy back in the 80's. Got rid of it and didnt get another boat till about 3 yrs ago. A 14' Grumman w/25. That got the itch goin'. I've been looking for pretty much exactly what I got for a long time. Not too big, but big boat features. It's in good shape too, as far as I can tell. The only scary thing is it's been out of the water for 18 mo. Winterized. I'm going to start it the middle of March. If we get a freeze after that, it wont be too hard to throw some more anti-freeze in. I'll probably take it to the slip at the end of March. I boat in the Chesapeake Bay and my slip is in Rock Hall, MD. We also have a travel trailer about 5 miles from the slip.I kept the little boat for crabbing. Crabbibg is pretty good down there. So do we all have 1989 220DAs? How many are here?Mark

My father bought a 91 220 DA 5.7 a few years ago, he is extremly happy with the boat. Its the perfect size in the bay. Like many have said its still a smaller boat with all the big boat features. Glad to see there is a following here on iBoats we will have to keep each other posted on our adventures that we have on our boats!
I havent had mine in the water yet. Going to start it tomorrow if the weather cooperates. Then into the shop for a good going over and hopefully in the slip in 2 weeks.

I have a 94 23 da, bought it 2 years ago and love it!!!!!! Word of advice first couple of times out, if your not used to driving with power steering or a boat that sits so high out of the water take your time to get used to it. First couple of times out for me was a little scary, I was used to a 18 ft cuddy with very little of the boat out of the water, and manual steering. Handling was totaly different. Hope you enjoy your new boat!!!!! Jim
Started the engine today. Started right up and sounds real good. Might have a starter problem. Seems to be some tight spots on the starter and have to hit the key a few times to get it to turn. Thats the same thing that was wrong with my last I/O. Never fixed, just lived with it. But then I was younger and more daring back then. Thanks for the advise Jim. For a 22', this is a big boat. I'm coming from a 14' with a 25hp tiller control. But, I did have a 21' years back. This boat seems huge compared to that one. I discovered a bad shifter bellows that needs to be fixed before launch. Hopefully, I can get it into the shop this week. Going to have the shop just give a once over also, make sure everything looks and sounds right. Hopefully I'll be in the water in 3 weeks or less.Mark

I dont have the guts to try anything new with this boat. Havent even had it in the water yet. After a season or 2 I'll venture into some more involved repairs. Launch is in 2 weeks.Went down to the Bay today to hang out a little. Checked out some of the other boats in the marina. Then helped my friend move his sailboat to another slip. Felt great to get back on the water.Mark
