I am in process of restoring 1981 PE 400 motorcycle (2 stroke). I damaged one of the 3 magnets while removing flywheel. I noticed several postings in boating forum relating to replacing existing magnets on flywheels using a variety of epoxies. what I would like to know: is this possible with a MC flywheel and where I can purchase replacement magnets. new and used replacement flywheels are not available for this bike. pmburke@rcn.com

PMB, Wecome to iboats. I love searching for stuff and I've been into motorcycles for some 30+ years but could you please tell me more about this motorcycle. Are you refering to the Suzuki PE?

Re: MOTORCYCLE FLYWHEEL MAGNETS

Keep looking. You will never successfully reinstall the magnet. I worked on bikes for a living for most of my adult life { the last bike I raced was an 81 PE250 in 2000, AHRMA hare scrambles :) }. A RM400 ign might work if you don't need the lighting coil. PVL may also have a replacement ign.
