Default 89 Bayliner Capri w/ Force 50

Hey guys, the weather is getting better and I am going to try and replace some parts of my floor.I was thinking of cutting out the bad sections and then with 3/4 ply lay right over top of everything.Do you think this would just add unwanted weight? or is there a better way that is easy for the 1st timer to do.My main concern is the 2 consoles before the bow and the seats in the bow. I'm worried if I cut too close to them that they would lose support then I'll be in a mess.Any feedback would be appreciated.

Arnaldo,There's an old saying... do it right the first time or do it again. Sorry to be a downer but based on my experience with my '84 Capri, if part of the floor is gone, once you take it apart you'll find more wrong. I'm a first timer too and if you look at my share a project site you can see some pictures. As I started to remove floor, I found stringers that were bad. With the exception of the Transom, I don't think any of the original wood will be left in the boat when I'm done. The work isn't hard, but it is messy and time consuming. There are lots of great folks on this site to encourage you and answer questions.I encourage you not to shortcut it for you and your familys' safety.Jeff
