will the coupler make a rusty flaky not really grinding noise ive replaced everything but not that yet i just rebuilt the 460 and i havent put it in yet ive also rebuilt the outdrive ive tweaked and pried and pressed on the coupler but cant seem to get it to become loose is there internal steel inside those things that might make a really funky thats not the same all the time seemed to be getting worse and worse though but i dont know there was alot of rust from the bell housing spacer plate in the bell housing around where the coupler housing is i dont know i also had a few push rods bouncing round in the intake to thats why i have the motor out but the noise is coming out of the bell housing for sure
