adding dual harddrives to my pc

hi, i want to add a second drive form and older pc that was running win89se to my new pc running winxp.<br /> i have lots of old pics and files and all my banking information and quicken is on the old one.... <br /><br />can i move the old drive to the new pc without losing the info?

Yep...just plug it into the new computer, all the files will be there.

As long as you watch the Master/Slave relationship of how the drives are pinned. XP should have no problem sorting out any NTFS or Fat32 formatted drives.<br /><br />After you get it running, I'd off load any pics/files from the old drive to your main HD, then,Fdisk and reformat your old drive.

External hard drives are great for what you are doing. You can get them pretty cheap and they plug in to USB port. You can load all pics, vids, and any other files. Going to vist relatives? You can carry it around and plug into any other PC with USB port. Got one on ebay and it works great.
