i think i have a 1985 not sure its a 85hp model 856x5l serial 8207 anyway i cant seem to get any spark i just bought a wecury start switch i had an old gale with plug in type harness but the plug off an started to wire accordily with force switch well anyway i get no spark it turns over strong but there isnt any fire present i would hate to think booth all three coils are shot or booth cd boxes$$$$ any tips on anything before i blow this motor staright to hell were it belongs at this pint:)

The wire to the power pack doesn't carry 12 volt, but it operates based upon a open in the wire going to it from the switch. You'll notice that your switch has two M's on it and that stands for Magnitoes. When your switch is off its grounded out and when the switch is on or at start its open. Hope it helps.

check kill switch to be sure it is operating properly with lanyard attached. with this not working ignition would be grounded.
