I have 1990 90hp force(906X90C) and I am having problems. We were out having fun and it dropped all of a sudden in power. I have found out that the #2 cylinders are not firing and 1&2 are on one CDI and 3 is on the other. The manual talks about two cylinders not firing but only give a solution if they are on the same CDI could it be that #3 has a bad CDI and #2 is a bad coil? Can anyone help me?

Try changing the coils around first, then powerpacks if they are the same.

Changed out the non-firing coils and put in a new CDI for 1&2 and took the one CDI the fired the #1 cyl and put it on #3. Tried to start it and only the #2 cyl had spark. WTF? I am just about at my whits end. Would putting the stator back on 1/4 turn off effect the firing order? You wouldn't have a picture of it in place to use for comparison? I would like to know where the yellow wires sit in relation to the engine.
