30 km = 18 litres petrol<br /><br />I couldn't believe it<br /><br />Is this normal? If so this is going to be an expensive boat to run.<br /><br />If this is over consumption what can I check?<br /><br />Rich

If you are running at wide open throttle, expect to use 15 liters per hour. 3/4 throttle = 8 liters/hour.<br /><br />You may have a fuel leak in the fuel pump. Tyhese motors were prone to this leak after 10-12 years the diaphram wears out. It would leak internally into the block, then into the water.<br /><br />The fix is easy. Get a fuel pump kit from your local Mercury dealer for about $15
