I have a 1987 85 hp force outboard 856-X7B. In all the manuals I have there is suppose to be a hex drain plug for the lower unit oil. I can not see it or any signs of it and the motor is clean so it would be easy to spot. The fill and vent plugs on the side is all there is. I know the one lower screw is the pivot screw that is not to be touch for this. Has anyone ever came across this and if so how can I drain the oil to change it?

Take another look at the nosecone, just below the centerline. Feel around there for a Allen head screw. Its a tiny SOB, takes a small Allen wrench. It's there, but its so hard to find, thats why so many people pull the pivot pin instead

Look at the picture in the link.
Your 2 plugs are labeled #44.
The drain/fill screw is way under the nose.
mercruiserparts.com/Show_Pictures3.asp?dnbr=FOB4100&ivar=images/FORCE/FOB4100/26.png&inbr=1232&bnbr=10&bdesc=GEAR+HOUSING

Look at the very, very bottom in the front area for the small allen bolt. Don't touch that pivot pin!!
