It has a stator (windings) under the flywheel. They spin past magnets which are attached to the underside of the flywheel, to generate current.<br />From there some of the current is directed to the voltage regulator/rectifier.<br />And from there to the battery.<br /><br />Time to buy a repair manual and follow the test procedures to determine which part is faulty. Either a factory manual or a Clymer repair manual are my choice.
