I have a 1984 Bayliner with a 1984 - 125HP Force Motor. When I attempt the first start of the day of if it has not been run for about 10 minutes ( drift fishing) It take alot of cranking of the the starter to get it running again. Once started It seems to run pretty well. I pump the bulb, but it never seems to get hard. The fuel delivery system is all original as far as I know. what is a good course of action

Try replacing the fuel pump diaphram and gasket. Should cost about $10 or so. I experienced a similar problem and it cleared it right up. If your fuel lines are 20+ years old, it wouldn't hurt to replace them too, but it may be easiest to start with the basics.

Thanks for the reply...I've cruised around this site and it seems these Force Motors are a challenging endeavor. I'll get the fuel pump kit and give it a try...Thanks again
