Re: serialnumber

Any idea what year it is? From the 90's (Mercury), or the 70's (Chrysler)?

1990's motors should be dark grey in color.
They were made from 1991-1995

The only place the serial number appears on that motor is on a small id plate located on the side of the transom mounting bracket. Number should be similar to OE047834.

If the id tag does not exist, you can narrow down the year by identifying the type of ignition system.

Re: serialnumber

thanks for the reply, the engine is from 1992,as i have the original papers of the first owner.it is darkgrey/black. sadly i cannot find the serial plate(is it a plate or is it part of the mounting bracket, maybe someone has a picture of it??) i do find several serial nrs. such as:
-near the prop:1400-819128 w3 c21d1c
-on transom bracket left:819373
-on transom bracker right:819374
-under engine hood:100-819372 made in usa

Is this something to use as serial nr?
The serial on the certificate is 019909 but that nr i cannot find anywhere???
