shift throw length

Thwat is the shift throw length of the force engine 88 85 HP 856X8A?<br />I got the new shifter and I get a chioce of 67mm or 78mm<br /><br />67 millimeters = 2.63779528 inch <br />78 millimeters = 3.07086614 inch<br /><br />Which would work the best for me?

There are two basic throw lengths. Johnnyrudes use a 5" throw and most everyone else uses 6". That would be total throw, either Idle to Full throttle or Forward to Reverse gearshift.

Ok that makes sense to me as the shift length is either 5 total or 6 total. :) <br /><br />I just wanted to be sure as there were two holes and the throws were in mm not inches plus I had no clue as to how long the throw was.
