Shift plot screw

Just to let all the newbies know if you use a screwdriver to open the lower unit and drain the oil your in big trouble!!! This screw hold the shift linkage inside the housing.<br /><br />The drain is on the bottom front and uses an allen wrench. it might be a little hard to find but you can do it.

hmmm mine is a flat head....both fill and vent <br /><br />I am sure it varies across different models

I have slotted screw on 70hp motor and hex on 7.5 motor. I do agree that if you don't know which one is the drain don't go experimenting till you know...bad karma
