Okay guys, I have a 95 model 120 hp Force with Merc 3000 controls. Getting ready to install an in dash tachometer. I have the one made for my boat which is a Bayliner. Ignition and choke are mounted separately on the dash. Is there supposed to be a gray wire up at the dash to hook to the send terminal on the tach or do I need to run one separately from the engine. If so where on the engine is the teminal located from which to run the wire. Thanks in advance.

The grey wire should be contained in the main wiring harness, that runs from the motor to the controls.

From the controls, it splits off into another harness that contains the grey, black, purple, tan, and brown/white wires.
