lower unit noise? 1988 85 hp

I just rebuilt my first outboard, 1988 85 hp. I'm still working on getting a rpm gauge so I can set the carbs, but thats another tale. <br />My question is my something seems loud on the water when i'm moving about 30 mph, I installed some insulation under the cowl, (boy it looks good and shiny ) But the loud screaming noise sounds like its coming from the lower unit! Is this typical on a force lower unit?

Sure sounds like the lower unit needs a rebuild.<br /> Not an expert on Force but I remember lower<br />units howling before failing comepletely.Check the lube for excesive amounts of metal, water, <br />chunks etc.
