Default Mercury 115 temperture sensor

I have Mercury 115 1995.Runs good. Dosent seem to be overheating but the alarm is constantly sounding when key is on. Even after the boat has sat in driveway all night. My guess is the temperture sensor is bad?I unhooked the sensor and alarm stopped. I have ordered one. But how do you get the sensor out of the head.It has a cover with a screw.and the sensor is rubber where the wire goes in.Do I pry out the sensor?I have ordered a manual.

The manual will show you the correct method but the rubber piece is their to keep the sensor on the block. If you pull the rubber piece out the sensor will just pull out easy.
