How critical is the purpose of the thermostat on a 15hp outboard? Dismantling found that it is missing..had run it about 20 hours without. Schematic calls for a 105* degree therm..spring..washer, that is still available in parts. Water temp here runs avg 80*. VeeJay

Your engines idling characteristics will improve upon running at the correct temp.<br /><br />The engine will also be better on fuel as you will not need to have the idle fuel jet open as far.<br /><br />TMD
