Default Help! installing outboard on pontoon

Taking off an outbaord from an old boat and putting on my pontoon with no motor.Has steering. do i just mount to transom use old controls which would have to go on port side of center console which i don't like. then run elec. and trim and tilt to motor then measure from motor to controls and buy two new control cables of rite length? Am I on track here any pointers? Thanks in advance!

i think there are controllers specially for your application. seems like they are left hand controllers. edit: just did a search could find left hand controller.. looks like if want the controller on the right side of the console you will have to go with a top mount. it sits on top of the console.
